Manager, Roaming

Role Purpose

The Roaming Manager is responsible for driving Bridge Member Operators (BMOs) regional leadership in roaming services. The role will lead wholesale negotiations, forge strategic global partnerships, and identify new business avenues across roaming, eSIM, and IoT ecosystems to drive revenue growth. This role also encompasses strategic guidance to BMOs on network quality & coverage assurance, new technology enablement, and the creation of compelling retail propositions.

Key Responsibilities

Regional Leadership & Technology Enablement: Drive BMOs regional leadership in roaming services. Champion the rollout of next-generation technologies (e.g., 5G SA/NSA roaming, BCE) and enhance retail roaming propositions.

Business Development: Formulate and execute innovative business opportunities within the travel and roaming sectors to accelerate mobile revenue and market share for BMOs.

Strategic Support & Roadmapping: Assist BMOs in executing roaming strategies, defining product roadmaps, optimizing the end-to-end roaming user experience, and launching targeted marketing programs.

Wholesale & Partner Management: Lead commercial negotiations for wholesale roaming agreements with global mobile operators, MVNOs, and hyperscalers across roaming, eSIM, and IoT verticals.

Alliance & Ecosystem Frameworks: Develop, review, and update Alliance frameworks to ensure continuous alignment with shifting regional and global travel industry trends.

Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the central liaison between internal cross-functional teams and BMOs to seamlessly execute identified business strategies. Keep BMOs continuously engaged with insights on global travel tech trends.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

Academic Background: Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.

Industry Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in the roaming, wholesale, or mobile business.

Regional Expertise: In-depth understanding of the mobile telecom landscape, regulatory environments, and market dynamics within the APAC region.

Skills & Competencies

Commercial Acumen & Negotiation: Proven track record in wholesale negotiations with global partners, with strong business acumen to influence cross-border stakeholders.

Technical Familiarity: Understanding of roaming technicalities, including 5G roaming frameworks, BCE, and IoT connectivity.

Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical mind with the ability to translate complex data into actionable roaming strategies and problem-solving initiatives.

Communication & Relationship Building: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build deep, trusting relationships with BMOs and global partners.

Cultural Intelligence: High level of cultural adaptability and awareness, with experience working across diverse, multi-national teams. Multilingual capabilities are highly advantageous.

Attributes: Highly independent and self-motivated, yet functions as a collaborative team player.

Mobility: Willingness and ability to travel regionally and internationally as required.
