We are partnering with a leading European multinational (industrial manufacturer) with a strong and growing presence across Asia Pacific. As part of its initiatives to strengthen regional operations and integrate AI into day-to-day work, the organisation is seeking a forward-thinking Regional Finance Manager to lead its regional accounting operations across Southeast Asia and Australia.
The Role
Reporting to the Director of Regional Finance, you will lead a team of three within the Regional Shared Service Centre. Your primary responsibility is to oversee finance and accounting operations, month-end closing and corporate reporting across the region.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the Shared Service Centre supporting Southeast Asia and Australia
- Overseeing month-end closing, account reconciliations, accounting schedules and corporate reporting
- Ensuring compliance with IFRS, local accounting standards, statutory requirements and corporate policies
- Managing internal and external audits and statutory reporting requirements
- Acting as the Regional Key User and Process Owner for General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Serving as the regional escalation point for accounting process and system issues
- Driving process harmonisation, standardisation, automation and the adoption of AI-enabled ways of working
- Leading regional finance projects involving system implementation, process improvement, testing and change management
- Providing functional guidance on master data, posting logic, reconciliations, payments, billing, collections and closing activities
- Supporting regional tax matters, including tax compliance, transfer pricing and coordination with internal and external tax specialists
- Overseeing cash-flow forecasting and foreign-exchange exposure, including recommending appropriate hedging where required
- Coaching the team and partnering with regional, country and corporate stakeholders on finance initiatives
Your Profile
- Degree in Accountancy or an equivalent professional qualification, such as CPA or CA
- At least 8-10 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, preferably supporting multiple countries or within a regional or shared-service environment
- Strong hands-on accounting knowledge across General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Solid experience in finance operations, month-end closing, corporate reporting, reconciliations, intercompany accounting and internal controls
- Strong ERP knowledge and SAP experience regional key-user or process-owner experience would be advantageous
- Proven project experience involving finance systems, process improvement, automation, implementation, testing or change management
- Exposure to tax compliance and transfer pricing, together with experience in cash-flow forecasting and foreign-exchange hedging
- Progressive and open-minded, with the ability to embrace new ideas, challenge existing practices constructively and champion new ways of working
- Genuine interest in leveraging technology and AI to improve finance processes, efficiency and decision-making
- Strong ownership and execution mindset, with the ability to translate ideas into practical and sustainable improvements
- Effective people manager and business partner who can engage stakeholders across countries and functions
- Comfortable operating within a matrix environment, managing tight timelines and travelling when required
