Role Overview
The Security Manager is responsible for managing physical security operations and security systems within a mission-critical data centre environment. This role oversees daily security operations, vendor performance, compliance requirements, and the maintenance and implementation of physical security systems including access control, video surveillance (CCTV), and intrusion detection systems. The security manager will ensure operational readiness in a 24x7 environment while supporting system design, deployment, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement of security infrastructure.

Physical Security Operations
- Manage day-to-day physical security operations across data centre facilities in a 24x7 mission-critical environment.
- Coordinate and monitor third-party security service providers to ensure compliance with contracted SLAs.
- Ensure all security activities comply with legal, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain security procedures and operational workflows.
- Support audits, inspections, and risk assessments (including TVRA).
- Investigate incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain operational readiness and emergency response preparedness.
Security Systems Management
- Act as the system owner for core physical security platforms including Access Control, CCTV/VMS, Intrusion Detection and Perimeter Security systems, with hands-on responsibility for their implementation, reliability, and lifecycle management.
- Lead the deployment of security systems including installation, testing, commissioning, and operational handover.
- Ensure continuous system availability and performance in a 247 mission-critical environment through effective maintenance and monitoring.
- Review system designs, technical drawings, and documentation to ensure alignment with operational and security requirements.
- Support integration and enhancement initiatives to improve system resilience, scalability, and operational effectiveness.
- Coordinate vendors and service partners to ensure timely maintenance, issue resolution, and quality delivery.
- Maintain proper system documentation, asset records, and audit readiness for all security infrastructure.
- Support technology refresh and capital projects related to physical security systems.
- Serve as the subject matter lead for physical security systems and infrastructure across facilities.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage outsourced security maintenance vendors to ensure safe, effective, and timely completion of works.
- Monitor vendor performance and enforce contractual obligations.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Products, Sales, Legal) to align security requirements with business needs.
- Manage security maintenance budget and expenditure within approved limits.
Skills for Success
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Security Studies, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mission-critical facilities, law enforcement, or the security industry, with hands-on exposure to both physical security operations and security systems.
- Practical experience in physical security system design and implementation (Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion Detection).
- Experience managing security system deployment, maintenance, and vendor coordination.
- Ability to read and understand security architecture and topology drawings.
- Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies such as TVRA.
- Familiarity with networked security technologies and system integration principles.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to multi-task and perform effectively under pressure in a high-availability environment.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
