Position Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our metals recycling facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metals recycling, with expertise in differentiating ferrous and non-ferrous metals, sourcing products, and managing import and export processes.
Responsibilities:
- Operations Management: Lead and manage all aspects of the recycling facility's operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Material Sourcing: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure a steady supply of ferrous and non-ferrous metals for recycling.
- Quality Control: Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure the accurate identification and separation of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
- Import and Export: Manage import and export activities, including documentation, customs clearance, and logistics coordination, to facilitate the international trade of recycled metals.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and optimize inventory levels to meet production requirements and minimize storage costs.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and supervise operational staff to ensure high performance, adherence to safety protocols, and continuous improvement.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and operational efficiency enhancements.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, health and safety standards, and industry best practices.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on operational performance, including key metrics such as production output, material yields, and inventory turnover.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the operations budget, including forecasting, variance analysis, and cost control measures.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3 years) in operations management within the metals recycling industry.
- In-depth knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including their properties, characteristics, and recycling processes.
- Strong understanding of import and export regulations, customs procedures, and international trade practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office and industry-specific software applications.
