Manager, Loan Documentation

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Manager, Loan Documentation to join our Retail Banking Operations team at RHB Singapore. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end post-approval documentation processes for retail banking products, ensuring financing and security documentation are accurate, complete, and compliant with internal policies and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with Business Units, solicitors, valuers, insurers, and internal stakeholders to facilitate the timely activation and redemption of credit facilities while minimizing operational risks and maintaining service excellence.

What you will be doing

• Review draft and executed financing documents, including Letters of Offer, security documents, and mortgage documentation, to ensure accuracy and compliance with approved terms.
• Validate financing and security documentation against approved credit facilities and conduct post-acceptance documentation checks.
• Prepare instructions for lawyers, valuers, insurers, and other external service providers to facilitate documentation and disbursement processes.
• Support daily business-as-usual (BAU) operations relating to post-approval documentation through to redemption for retail banking products such as Mortgage Loans, Unsecured Loans, Premium Financing, and Portfolio Financing.
• Liaise closely with Business Units and external parties to ensure smooth execution of documentation and operational processes.
• Perform checks to ensure legal and security documentation is duly completed and all conditions precedent are fulfilled prior to facility activation.
• Monitor conditions subsequent and ensure legal and security documents are properly maintained and custodized.
• Prepare letters, reports, and operational records while maintaining accurate registers and documentation repositories.
• Manage day-to-day transactions and ensure agreed turnaround times are consistently met.
• Ensure operational accuracy, efficiency, and service quality while minimizing operational risks and potential losses.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and participate in ad hoc projects to enhance operational effectiveness.
• Assist the Team Lead in reviewing and streamlining internal work processes to improve turnaround times and strengthen operational controls.
• Identify operational risk gaps and implement appropriate controls to ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry guidelines.

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Degree in any discipline.
• Minimum 3-5 years of loan documentation or related operational experience within a financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of financing, legal, and security documentation processes for retail banking products.
• Good understanding of banking regulations, compliance requirements, and operational controls.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Meticulous, organized, and detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under tight timelines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external parties.
• Team player with a proactive mindset and commitment to operational excellence.
• Able to commence work within short notice will be an added advantage.
• Willing to be based at Cecil Street.
