[What the role is]
The Manager, MICE will spearhead strategies to position Sentosa as a leading destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions. This role requires driving business opportunities, cultivating strategic partnerships, and supporting stakeholders in ensuring seamless delivery of high-value events. The individual will combine market intelligence, strong industry networks, and effective leadership to achieve business growth and strengthen Sentosa's reputation as a premier MICE hub.
[What you will be working on]
- Sales & Business Development
- Execute and co-develop sales strategies to achieve revenue and visitation targets for the MICE segment.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through associations, corporates, PCOs, DMCs and international channels.
- Analyse market trends, client needs, and competitor activity to generate qualified leads.
- Manage the end-to-end sales cycle, from bid proposals to contract negotiation and confirmation.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including corporates, associations, event planners, and industry partners.
- Act as the main point of contact for high-value clients, addressing inquiries and providing solutions.
- Ensure excellent client experience and service standards throughout the event planning and delivery process.
- Partner with hotels, venues, attractions, the Singapore Tourism Board and the hospitality eco-system to curate integrated delegate offerings.
- Strategic Partnerships & Collaboration
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, marketing, and partners to align strategies and deliver compelling MICE experiences.
- Work closely with local and regional stakeholders to support destination branding.
- Contribute to the creation of value-added delegate experiences that enhance the appeal of Sentosa.
- Financial & Performance Management
- Contribute to annual budget planning, revenue forecasts, and sales performance targets.
- Monitor results against KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and growth.
- Manage sales expenses efficiently to ensure maximum ROI.
- Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of MICE professionals to achieve collective goals.
- Provide coaching, conduct performance reviews, and drive a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Organize regular sales meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions to align on strategies.
- Market Insights & Thought Leadership
- Monitor global and regional MICE trends to inform strategy and product development.
- Represent Sentosa Development Corporation at trade shows, industry forums, and networking events.
- Benchmark competitor destinations and identify innovative approaches to stay ahead.
[What we are looking for]
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years experience in MICE sales or business development
- Strong track record in securing international/regional events.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong industry networks and ability to build long-term partnerships.
- Results-oriented with analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a sales team.
- Possessing a class 3 driving license will be advantageous.
