Job Description

The role:

The strength of the AMD brand allows us to tell so many stories about how AMD is accelerating next generation computing experiences and developing high-performance computing, to help transform lives. Reporting to the Director, Global Paid Media and Content Strategy, this role will help lead AMD's media planning and buying, as well as develop the content strategy and manage the agency integration required to bring it all together across paid and earned channels (including search, social, display, video, and out-of-home).

The Person:

As a Manager of Global Paid Media, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing the company's overall paid media, and related content. This role encompasses all media channels (strong digital focus- particularly social), business units and geographies. You will help determine the media agencies we work with globally with a focus on effectiveness and efficiency and own the relationship to bring together planning and buying activities.

You are innovative and solutions-oriented, always looking to do things differently and better. You are collaborative with an ability to effectively lead cross-functional and external partners, with the confidence to present to senior management. You are creative, yet analytic, operating with an ROI mindset in terms of objectives and measurement. You are a good listener with the ability to manage multiple stakeholder opinions but confident enough to make the best decision for the company. You love technology and understand the role that content plays in growing revenue, as well as protecting the company's reputation and growing the AMD brand. You are a media expert, as well as a life-long learner, staying on top of tools, trends, measurement, and the agency landscape and are excited about the opportunity to create a new way of managing media and content across a large, global company.

Key competencies for this role include championing change, influencing, relationship building, partnership, communication, and planning/analysis. To be successful, you need to proactively bring ideas to partners and stakeholders, build enthusiasm for the application and usage, and have empathy for users going through change (while at the same time, inspiring change).

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and implement paid media strategies within the APJ region in partnership with our media agency(ies).
  • Drive integration across our various activation teams internally (creative, organic social, web, etc).
  • Define objectives, provide context behind our results, and share with internal and external partners.
  • Develop strategies and regular presentations of reporting, KPIs, dashboards and ROI measurement at the operational and executive level. Constantly monitor effectiveness of our media spend and make changes to improve ROI. Recommend and implement improvements for process and productivity optimization.
  • Develop a comprehensive keyword research strategy and ad-network strategy to optimize overall spend, reach and ROI.
  • Leverage buyer personas to better target identified audiences across segments and regions.
  • Keep abreast of the latest paid media, SEO, SEM, Social Media and digital marketing trends and best practices.

Preferred experience:

  • Minimum 8+ years media agency experience, preferably have worked on global accounts in a media strategy role.
  • B2C and retail experience required. Additionally, B2B2C preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with planning and implementing a successful global digital media strategy.
  • Expertise in global media buying including Search Engine Marketing, retail, digital and paid social.
  • Practical experience with marketing technology
  • Experience with web analytics, A/B testing, multi-variate testing, and other approaches.
  • Experience with media operations and tagging best practices
  • Critical thinker with problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze data and provide evidence-based recommendations.
  • Superb written, verbal, analytical, organizational, and collaboration skills.
  • Effective at meeting deadlines, adjusting priorities, and working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to do more with less.

Academic credentials:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field.
