The Manager, Finance & Investments will support the Club's Senior Management and Management Team. The incumbent provides supervision to all finance and accounting functions within the Club. This includes day to day accounting operations, financial closing and statutory reporting, treasury operations, cash management and variance analyses. In addition, the incumbent manages the investments of the Club and is accountable for monitoring the investment portfolios. The incumbent is also responsible for seeking continuous improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the team. This position will report to Director, Corporate & Governance (DCG).
1) Financial & Management Accounting
Supervise Finance Team to ensure full set of accounts are properly maintained and timely month-end closing of accounts
Plan, prepare and submit timely & accurate financial statements, analyse financial performance and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports including variance analysis reporting
Manage the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortised, and disposed of as appropriate
Ensure compliance with all local accounting, tax and statutory requirements, prepare statutory reports, liaise with auditors, etc
Develop and implement goals, policies, priorities and procedures relating to financial management and accounting
Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and accounting policies
2) Annual Budget and Business Plan
Work proactively with respective business units and all departments in the preparation of annual budget and business plans
Establish guidelines for budget and forecast preparation and prepare the annual budget
3) Treasury Functions
Monitoring of receipts and payments of the Club i.e. cash management by constant review of accounts payable, accounts receivable
Manage cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts in accordance with policies
4) Investment
Oversee the management and allocation of investment portfolios
5) Finance Committee and EXCO Meeting
Coordinating, liaising and presenting to Finance Committee members for quarterly meetings
6) Others
Liaising with internal & external parties such as external and internal auditors, CPF, IRAS, banks etc
Ensure that financial policies stipulated in the financial guidelines are adhered
Make recommendations for changes if needed, for continuous process improvement
Conduct ad-hoc internal audit whenever necessary
Carry out any other duties as assigned by DCG, CE or Committee Members
Degree in Accountancy or equivalent with CA preferred
Minimum 5 years Managerial experience
Familiar with Club Management System (CMS) will have an added advantage
Well-versed in SFRS and IFRS requirements
Independent, proactive and strong team player
Good written and communication skills
