The individual is responsible to build compelling donor centric materials to advance the fundraising cause for the university. The incumbent is also expected to assist in strategic projects directed by the Management.
The typical candidate has strong knowledge and experience in research, marketing / corporate communications and demonstrates an ability to simplify technical data into go-to-market language.
The responsibilities of this role are:
- Develop and package compelling themes on new gift ideas at the University
- Develop a suite of marketing and branding concepts that support front-line to position standard and bespoke gift proposals to potential donors
- Identify unique selling points and customise value proposition based on different donor segments
- Develop a variety of other donor centric materials such as pitch books, decks, brochures, fact sheets
- Interface with various internal stakeholders - to understand business needs and build innovative ways of giving
- Develop donor centric big ideas in partnership with faculties and schools
- Guide faculty development colleagues on the development of case for support for donors
- Support the Management on strategic projects across the University. The candidate will perform duties that require significant confidentiality, sensitivity, tact, maturity and independent judgement
The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
- Graduate degree from a recognised University
- At least 5 years progressive career track record in a marketing or communications role
- Proficient in research, editorial and speech writing, presentation and product packaging capabilities
- Ability to position technical innovations into go-to-market messages
- Value philanthropy for higher education and is self-motivated to contribute for community building
- Identifies with the vision of the University and the mission of the Development Office
- Team-oriented with a positive can-do attitude
- Demonstrates discretion in preparing, disclosing and handling information of a confidential and sensitive nature establish work priorities and remain flexible
