Job Description

Key responsibilities :

- oversee all aspects of a kitchen's operations

- ensures smooth & efficient food preparation, service & overall kitchen management

- responsible for staff supervision, inventory management, food quality, safety & hygiene

- smooth running & adherence to standards

  • Staff Management :

Supervising, training, scheduling kitchen staff & ensuring they adhere to procedures & maintain high performance standards.

  • Food Preparation & Quality :

Overseeing food preparation, ensuring it meets quality standards & maintaining proper food handling & storage practices.

  • Inventory & Ordering :

Managing kitchen inventory, ordering supplies & minimizing waste.

  • Safety & Hygiene :

Enforcing strict food safety & hygiene regulations, ensuring kitchen is clean & sanitized.

  • Cost Control :

Monitoring kitchen expenses, assisting in budget management & controlling food costs.

  • Menu Planning & Implementation :

Involved in menu creation, recipe development & ensuring menu items are consistently prepared & presented.

  • Equipment Maintenance :

Ensuring kitchen equipment is properly maintained & functioning effectively.

  • Customer Satisfaction :

Contributing to a positive dining experience by ensuring food quality & service standards.

  • Profit driven :

Providing ideas & suggestions to ensure business is profitable.

  • Communication :

Effectively communicating with front-of-house staff, chefs & all other relevant personnel.

Skills and Qualifications :

  • Leadership & Management : Strong leadership skills to motivate & guide kitchen staff.
  • Culinary Expertise: A good understanding of food preparation techniques, cooking methods & menu planning.
  • Food Safety Knowledge : In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations & best practices.
  • Organizational Skills : Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively & maintain a well-organized kitchen.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent communication & interpersonal skills for interacting with staff & other departments.
  • Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to identify & resolve issues quickly & efficiently.
