Job Description

The Commercial Manager - Tenders & Contracts will oversee the Eastern Hemisphere Business Unit (EHBU)s Commercial Department - Tenders & Contracts Function and ensure that all tender, RFQ and email enquiries submissions are done on time and meet the Clients requirements and in compliance to Aesen's commercial process. This role is pivotal in managing the Tenders & Contracts team in EHBU in the scopes of tenders and enquiries, contracts, negotiations and post contract management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the tender, RFQ and enquiries process received from Clients from initiation to submission, ensuring compliance with client specifications and internal commercial process
  • Evaluate tender and RFQ documents, identify potential risks, and develop effective bidding strategies.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends and competitor activities to inform tender strategies and decision-making
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts with clients, ensuring favorable outcomes for the company
  • To submit Pre Contract Forms (PCF) of charters for review and approval and coordinate with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, and legal teams, to facilitate and expedite reviews and approvals of PCFs in line with internal commercial process
  • Issuance of Post Contract Summary (PCS) to relevant internal stakeholders, including operations and finance teams for charter execution and billing purpose
  • Work closely with EHBU Commercial - Business Development (BD) team to ensure effective and successful outcome in securing and landing charter opportunities
  • Monitor contract performance and compliance in accordance to the signed contracts with Clients. Work closely with Finance - Accounts Payable (AR) team for timely AR collection from Clients.
  • Send regular Customer Feedback Forms to Clients for performance feedbacks for continuous improvements
  • Prepare reports and presentations for management as and when required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Contract Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial management, tenders, and contracts within the marine or offshore sector
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to manage charter contracts
  • Strong knowledge of charter party contract forms such as Bimco contracts and contract forms used by Permit Operators
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strategic mindset
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work collaboratively and lead cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated success in driving process improvements and managing change
