Job Description

The Manager/Assistant Senior Manager/Senior Manager will provide strategic oversight and operational excellence in the management and expansion of global learning programmes (including the Student Exchange Programmes (SEP) with overseas and local partners, NUS Overseas Colleges (NOC) and other overseas learning initiatives (summer and winter programmes) under the Undergraduate Studies Office. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning capability, stakeholder management, and a commitment to enhancing international mobility opportunities and the overall student experience in response to the School's expanding undergraduate intake. The incumbent will play a critical role in facilitating international mobility opportunities and ensuring a seamless enriching student experience for both incoming and outgoing participants.

Job Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Programme Oversight

  • Prepare analytical reports and insights on global programmes for School management to support decision-making on the School's globalisation strategies.
  • Lead or support strategic initiatives in partnership development, including partner assessments, benchmarking, and expansion of mobility opportunities for students.
  • Lead end-to-end management of SEP and other global learning programmes, ensuring strategic objectives are delivered with operational excellence, compliance, and service quality.

Partnership Development & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with the NUS Global Relations Office and key stakeholders within and outside the School to identify, evaluate, and establish new academic partnerships, including (but not limited to) Student Exchange Programme agreements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with partner universities (PUs), maintaining timely and effective communication for faculty-level exchanges.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Guide team operations, mentor junior staff, and foster a culture of collaboration and excellence to support long-term mobility strategy.
  • Contribute to the administration of undergraduate business processes and support new initiatives from the Undergraduate Studies Office and University boards.

Operational Excellence, Data Analytics and Process Innovation

  • Oversee the planning and execution of application exercises, selection, nomination, and onboarding processes for both outgoing and incoming exchange students.
  • Deliver impactful student advisory services, including briefings, consultations, and ongoing support throughout the exchange lifecycle.
  • Act as the key faculty liaison for incoming exchange students, supporting their transition, integration, and overall University and student life experience.
  • Oversee the completion of academic activities such as course mapping requests and credit transfer processes, working closely with relevant University offices and cross-faculty academic units.
  • Maintain the Course Restriction Master List and quotas, and coordinate with the Office of the University Registrar to ensure timely system updates.
  • Facilitate course add/drop and appeal processes in collaboration with academic departments for incoming non-graduating students.
  • Lead IT and operational efficiency projects to improve undergraduate business processes.
  • Provide oversight of SEP-related academic matters, including course registration and curriculum mapping, and coordinate distance examination proctoring and credit transfers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher qualification from a recognized university.
  • At least 5-8 years of relevant experience in higher education with supervisory role in managing student mobility, academic administration, or related fields.
  • Strong leadership in business process reengineering projects or have prior experience in leading operational excellence initiatives will be an advantage.
  • Strong student-centric orientation with proven ability to engage and support diverse student groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills (with proven ability in meeting time-sensitive operations at all times)
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across cross-departmental and international collaborations.
