  • This position is forInternational Trading Institute, Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB).
  • Industry Partners Management (external stakeholders):
    • Work and collaborate with government agencies (MPA, PSA, SMF and SMI).
    • Manages industry partners relationships to increase engagement and revenue.
    • Work with the Office of Advancement to manage donations from industry partners.
    • UpdateIndustry donation records.
    • Assist with the organisation of council meetings and activities.
    • Maintain Industry database.
  • Donorship Management:
    • Develop and implement donor engagement and stewardship strategies.
    • Build and maintain relationships with individual donors, alumni, corporate partners, and foundations.
    • Coordinate donor recognition events and reporting activities.
    • Track and manage donor contributions in collaboration with the Finance Department.
    • Prepare impact reports, proposals, and presentations for stakeholders.
    • Ensure compliance with university policies and legal requirements related to charitable giving.
  • Collaborating with SMU Stakeholders:
    • Work with various offices within SMU on operational and administrative matters (such as, coordinating industry study trips, track progress of students internship, Work-study Electives, Excellence Award).
    • Compile, update and maintain data records on MBOT & ITT.
  • Student Management:
    • Conduct and manage marketing and outreach to prospective students to generate interest in the Maritime & Business Operations (MBOT) and International Trading Track (ITT).
    • Promote and maintain a positive working relationship with students to foster collaboration. The aim is for students to feel that ITI@SMU is a place they continue to associate as alumni.
    • Provide technical expertise and input concerning student activities.
    • Work and guide the Maritime Merchants Society (MMS) - student club.
    • Manage all MBOT & ITT activities.
  • Work-Study Elective Management:
    • Design, implement, and oversee the work-study elective (WSE) framework.
    • Coordinate with Careers Centre and industry partners to create meaningful student placements.
    • Develop eligibility criteria, policies, and program guidelines.
    • Monitor student performance, attendance, and learning outcomes.
    • Ensure alignment between work-study roles and academic objectives.
    • Provide orientation for participating students and industry partners.
    • Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Support Events and Seminars:
    • Make recommendation and contact suitable Industry Seminar Series and Guest Speakers (non-credit course).
    • Represent the office at donor meetings, networking events, and partnership forums.
    • Support strategic planning initiatives related to student funding and experiential learning.
    • Prepare events and seminar materials, such as flyers, registration forms.
    • Maintain communications and updates with students and/or speakers.
    • Support logistics of events, seminars, and newly developed programmes.
  • Managing the Operations of the Office:
    • Create marketing materials for programmes.
    • Marketing of programmes and update of activities on various social media platforms (LinkedIn and Telegram).
    • Respond to enquiries from external and internal parties (including government agencies, industry partners).
    • Handle finance payments and updating of finance records.
    • Manage companies requests for interns or graduate employment.
    • Manage day-to-day operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A university degree with3 to5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Possess good administrative and organisational skills.
  • Experience in the tertiary education sector, particularly in undergraduate programme management is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in managing and updating web content.
  • Able to design event marketing collaterals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Meticulous, ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter, mature and able to work independently, at the same time, an effective team player.
  • Willingness to travel for work.
