Job Description
- Remuneration: Basic Salary of up to $4,800 + $220 Fixed Allowance

We are assisting our client, an established organisation within the specialty chemical manufacturing industry, in hiring a Maintenance Planner.
This role is responsible for planning and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities to maximise plant reliability, availability, safety, and engineering compliance. The successful candidate will work closely with the Maintenance, Engineering, Production, and contractor teams to ensure that maintenance activities are properly scheduled, resourced, documented, and completed efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage weekly maintenance schedules covering mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation preventive maintenance activities.
- Plan and coordinate corrective maintenance, breakdown repairs, and other reactive maintenance requirements.
- Prioritise maintenance activities based on operational urgency, safety requirements, equipment criticality, and production needs.
- Liaise closely with Production to secure suitable maintenance windows and minimise disruption to plant operations.
- Coordinate with resident contractors to ensure sufficient manpower, materials, tools, and other resources are available before work commences.
- Verify that assigned personnel possess the required training, qualifications, and site authorisations.
- Maintain an up-to-date weekly maintenance schedule and publish daily progress reports, highlighting critical equipment and outstanding work.
- Identify, plan, and schedule major shutdown activities in collaboration with the Engineering and Production teams.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for maintenance activities, equipment histories, and calibration records.
- Analyse maintenance data and identify trends or opportunities to improve future maintenance schedules and plant reliability.
- Serve as a key liaison between Maintenance, Engineering, Production, suppliers, contractors, and technical specialists.
- Provide basic troubleshooting guidance and support the coaching of new technicians when required.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with site safety, engineering, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other maintenance-planning duties and ad hoc assignments when required.
- Minimum Diploma in a Technical, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or other relevant engineering discipline.
- Preferably 3–5 years of relevant experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, or engineering maintenance.
- Experience within the chemical, oil and gas, petrochemical, process, or manufacturing industry will be advantageous.
- Sound understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of SAP Maintenance Modules, such as IP10, IW28, and IW38, will be beneficial.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to analyse maintenance data and prepare accurate reports.
- Good planning, organisational, and prioritisation abilities.
- Able to coordinate multiple maintenance activities while responding effectively to changing operational requirements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills when working with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, and technical specialists.
- Possesses a strong commitment to safety, engineering standards, documentation accuracy, and continuous improvement.
