We are partnering with a leading player in the petrochemical industry in the hiring of their Maintenance Manager role. This role leads the maintenance function, overseeing the installation, repair, and reliability of plant assets to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations. He/she will develop and implement maintenance strategies, manage contractors and budgets, drive asset integrity and preventive maintenance programs, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is expected to have a strong leadership to build team capability, foster a proactive safety culture, and support long-term business planning and sustainability goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies in line with company policies, industry best practices, and local statutory requirements.
- Lead and oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of all terminal assets to ensure operational continuity and workplace safety.
- Manage and optimize the asset data management process using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and related engineering documentation tools.
- Establish and sustain preventive maintenance programs, track performance through reports, and ensure timely follow-up actions.
- Manage contractors and service providers to ensure effective and efficient execution of maintenance activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reliability, and quality of maintenance processes.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards, ensuring all activities align with regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Manage asset integrity by preventing inspection backlogs across pipelines, tanks, structures, and other safety-critical equipment.
- Contribute to annual and long-term business planning, including forecasting, resource allocation, and project justification.
- Oversee department resources, including manpower planning, budget management, and prioritization of maintenance activities.
- Review and approve maintenance orders and projects, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to maximize asset reliability and lifespan.
- Drive cost-saving and energy efficiency initiatives aligned with organizational sustainability goals.
- Lead procurement processes for maintenance projects to ensure competitive pricing and quality outcomes.
- Provide technical leadership in capital projects, including engineering solutions, cost estimation, scheduling, and execution.
- Build organizational capability through training, mentorship, and career development of maintenance personnel.
- Promote employee engagement, foster positive team dynamics, and proactively address employee relations concerns.
- Ensure effective onboarding, ongoing training, and competency development for all team members.
- Champion a proactive safety culture and lead initiatives to improve safety performance for employees and contractors.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering
- 5-10 years of engineering experience, with a background in maintenance and operations
- Strong planning, project management, and conceptualization skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and ability to translate insights into practical improvements.
- In-depth knowledge of maintenance, operations, safety, and product handling.
- Familiarity with safety, health, and environmental practices.
- Demonstrated leadership, people management, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven stakeholder management and strong communication abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and demanding environment.
- Strong understanding of maintenance and reliability standards, including Singapore safety regulations and industrial standards (e.g., APIs, SS).
- Knowledge of boiler operations is an advantage.
