Join our dynamic team as a Building Maintenance Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our advanced research facility. This position offers the opportunity to utilize your technical skills and contribute to a vital national initiative.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, lighting, fire protection, and electrical systems. Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, panels, motors, pumps, and other building equipment. Perform minor plumbing, air-conditioning, and carpentry repairs. Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) for alerts and discrepancies. Respond promptly to alarms, power failures, or mechanical issues. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain accurate records, including logs and maintenance checklists. Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs and support during facility shutdowns and renovations. Provide emergency support for M&E system failures or breakdowns and participate in standby duties when required.
Requirements
- ITE, Higher ITE, or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in building maintenance or facilities management. Hands-on experience with HVAC, electrical systems, or plumbing is preferred. Basic knowledge of M&E drawings and technical manuals. Strong problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail. Physically fit, capable of working at heights or in confined spaces when necessary. Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or after-hours as required. Possession of a valid electrical license (e.g., Licensed Electrical Worker - LEW) is an advantage.
