Job Description

Our client operates a national high-containment biomedical research facility that supports advanced scientific and biosafety research. They are seeking a hands-on and reliable M&E Technician to support the safe and efficient operation of critical building systems within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting and fire protection systems to ensure smooth facility operations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair building equipment including electrical circuits, panels, motors, pumps and related systems.
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS), respond to alarms and operational issues, and maintain accurate system readings and records.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and internal procedures, maintaining proper documentation, logs and maintenance records.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs, and support facility upgrades, shutdowns and installations.
  • Provide emergency response support for mechanical and electrical breakdowns and participate in standby or shift duties when required.

Requirements

  • ITE / Higher ITE / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience in building maintenance or facilities management.
  • Hands-on experience with HVAC, electrical or plumbing systems preferred.
  • Basic ability to read M&E drawings and technical manuals familiarity with CMMS is an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and physical fitness to work in demanding environments.
  • Willingness to work shifts or after-hours when required electrical license (e.g. LEW) is a plus.
