Job Description

The Field Engineer (M&E) is responsible for overseeing on-site mechanical and electrical works, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with specifications, drawings, and regulatory standards. The role involves coordination with contractors, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring timely project completion.
KeyResponsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate on-site mechanical and electrical (M&E) installation works (e.g., HVAC, pumps, electrical systems, fire protection systems).
  • Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and local authority regulations (e.g., Building and Construction Authority standards).
  • Conduct site inspections, testing, and commissioning of M&E systems.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, defects, and non-conformance on site.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor project progress and report on site activities, delays, and risks.
  • Ensure adherence to workplace safety standards and regulations (e.g., Workplace Safety and Health Council guidelines).
  • Prepare and maintain site documentation, reports, method statements, and checklists.
  • Support project handover, including as-built drawings and documentation.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 1-10 years of relevant experience in M&E works.
  • Good knowledge of M&E systems, including HVAC, chilled water systems, electrical distribution, and fire protection systems.
  • Familiarity with local regulations and codes of practice in Singapore.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work on-site and travel between project locations.
  • Knowledge of project management practices.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or other engineering software.
  • Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
