M&E Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a talented M&E Engineer to join our team in a full-time capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical engineering aspects of our projects, contributing to the design, implementation, and maintenance of systems that are critical to our operations. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects whilst collaborating with a skilled engineering team, making a tangible impact on the successful delivery of our services and facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise mechanical and electrical systems for various projects and applications

• Conduct detailed engineering calculations, analysis and simulations to ensure system performance and reliability

• Prepare technical drawings, specifications and documentation using CAD software and industry-standard tools

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, contractors and other engineering disciplines to integrate M&E systems effectively

• Oversee installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical and electrical equipment and systems

• Conduct site inspections and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure compliance with design specifications

• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and maintain records of engineering designs and modifications

• Ensure all work complies with relevant building codes, safety standards and regulatory requirements

• Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff and contractors as required

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline

• Professional engineering qualification or registration (such as P.Eng or equivalent) is preferred

• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in M&E engineering, preferably in commercial, industrial or facilities management sectors

• Strong proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit or similar) and engineering analysis tools

• Solid understanding of mechanical systems, HVAC, electrical distribution and building services

• Knowledge of relevant building codes, safety standards and regulatory compliance requirements

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail

• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

• Project management experience and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Valid driving licence is advantageous for site visits and inspections
