Job Description
The M&E Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, supervising, and monitoring all Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works within the construction project. This role ensures that M&E services are properly planned, installed, and integrated with architectural and structural works, in compliance with design specifications, statutory requirements, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate M&E works with consultants, subcontractors, and project team to ensure smooth execution of the project.
- Review M&E drawings, specifications, and materials to identify discrepancies and resolve technical issues.
- Monitor site progress, quality, and workmanship of M&E installations.
- Liaise with authorities, consultants, and clients for approvals and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Manage scheduling of M&E activities to align with overall construction progress.
- Attend project, site, and coordination meetings to resolve conflicts between architectural, structural, and M&E works.
- Verify M&E subcontractors claims, variations, and progress reports.
- Assist in testing, commissioning, and handover of M&E systems.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in M&E coordination within the construction industry.
- Familiar with local codes, regulations, and submission procedures (e.g., BCA, PUB, EMA, SCDF, NEA).
- Good technical knowledge of M&E systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, ACMV, etc.).
- Proficient in reviewing construction and M&E drawings (AutoCAD, BIM/Revit knowledge an advantage).
- Strong coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a project team.
- Willing to be stationed on-site.
