The M&E Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, design coordination, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of all Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) systems within construction projects. The role ensures that M&E works are delivered safely, on time, to specification, and in compliance with relevant standards and regulations. The M&E Manager collaborates with multiple stakeholders including Project Managers, engineers, clients, consultants, subcontractors, QA teams, safety officers, procurement, finance, and regulatory authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all M&E activities across project lifecycle (planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out).
- Ensure M&E systems are designed, installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with project specifications and applicable codes/standards.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Manage M&E subcontractors and vendors to ensure alignment with timelines, quality requirements, and scope of work.
- Oversee QA/QC implementation for mechanical and electrical works, ensuring corrective actions are promptly addressed.
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements related to M&E activities.
- Coordinate procurement activities for materials, equipment, and systems required for M&E works.
- Support budgeting, cost control, and progress reporting through collaboration with financial analysts and project teams.
- Liaise with consultants and regulatory authorities to ensure approvals, inspections, and compliance documentation are in place.
- Conduct site coordination meetings, track deliverables, and manage project risks specific to M&E scope.
- Provide leadership and guidance to engineers, technicians, and site teams involved in M&E systems.
- Maintain and update M&E project documentation, including plans, as-built records, testing reports, and commissioning records.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (typically required).
- 5–8 years of experience in M&E roles within the construction industry.
