M&A/PE Associate (Law Firm)

A leading international law firm's Asia-Pacific M&A/Private Equity practice is seeking an Associate for its Singapore office, advising on complex cross-border transactions across the region.

About the Role

You'll advise private equity sponsors, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, infrastructure investors, and corporates across the full transaction lifecycle - from structuring through execution. The role covers leading workstreams, managing multi-jurisdictional due diligence, and working directly with partners and clients on deal strategy.

Private equity, venture capital, infrastructure, energy, natural resources, TMT, financial institutions, and general corporates across Southeast Asia and the wider Asia-Pacific region.

• Private equity, growth equity, and venture capital investments
• Joint ventures and co-investments
• Structured and infrastructure investments
• Restructurings
• Disposals, demergers, and exits (private sale, IPO, continuation vehicle, secondaries)

Due Diligence

Managing multi-jurisdictional due diligence processes and identifying key legal and commercial issues arising from transaction documentation.

Key Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with strong PE, M&A, and/or corporate transactional experience, ideally from a leading international law firm
• Experience advising on complex cross-border transactions in Singapore and/or Asia-Pacific
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and transaction management skills across SPAs, investment agreements, shareholders agreements, JV agreements, and disclosure materials
• Commercially astute, with strong client-facing confidence and ability to manage multiple workstreams under deadline pressure
• Experience supervising and developing junior lawyers
