Job Summary
Oversee and coordinate the Lock Out/Tag Out program on commissioning projects at field location to protect employees, prevent equipment damage, and optimize system efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Identify and isolate energy sources during pre-commissioning and commissioning activities to prevent energization
- Apply locks and tags to energy sources to secure equipment safely
- Verify and prove the effectiveness of equipment isolation before work proceeds
- Enforce compliance with site safety rules and all safety requirements during work execution
- Adhere to Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (QHSSE) standards and comply with the Client's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) system requirements
- Take reasonable care of personal health and safety and that of others in the workplace
- Follow and maintain company quality standards in line with the Company Quality System requirements
May need to stand in for PTW Coordinator duties include:
- Preparing and registering permits to work
- Inspecting to check that defined precautions are in place prior to start work
- Monitoring compliance of workers to the PTW requirements
- Canceling or closing out of permits
- Reviews process, mechanical, electrical isolations to ensure correct isolation standard and procedures
Experience & Education
- Must have 5 years of previous experience in Lock Out/Tag Out procedures in a construction/commissioning environment or work in an oil and gas, or similar industrial environment
- Must be able to quickly understand the Company's LOTO Policy, Permit to Work process, and Safety Plan
- Must be able to read and interpret circuit diagrams, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, piping ISO's, etc.
- Must have strong time management and communication skills.
- Good PC skills, including MS Office
