Loss Adjuster (Internship)

Role Overview

The Loss Adjusting Intern (May - August) will support the Singapore Loss Adjusting team in the investigation, analysis, and documentation of insurance claims. This internship is designed for undergraduates who are interested in building a career in insurance, claims, or risk-related services. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to the end-to-end claims process while working closely with experienced adjusters in a professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Loss Adjusters in the handling of insurance claims across various lines of business.
  • Support the review and interpretation of insurance policies and claim-related documents.
  • Help gather, organize, and analyse claim information, including reports, photographs, and correspondence.
  • Participate in claim file preparation, ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and well-organised.
  • Assist with the preparation of draft reports and summaries for internal review.
  • Support site visit preparations and, where appropriate, accompany adjusters on inspections or meetings.
  • Update claims information in internal systems in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g. adjusters, administrators) for information collection and follow-ups.
  • Comply with company operational standards, quality guidelines, and Health & Safety procedures.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties within the scope of the internship as assigned.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate in disciplines such as Insurance, Risk Management, Business, Engineering, Finance, or related fields.
  • Strong interest in insurance, claims, or loss adjusting as a career path.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage information accurately.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Willingness to learn, proactive attitude, and ability to work well in a team environment.

Preferred Attributes (Advantageous But Not Mandatory)

  • Basic understanding of insurance or claims concepts.
  • Prior internship, project, or coursework related to insurance, risk, or investigations.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
