Job Description

Vehicle Operation: Drive commercial lorries over designated routes while obeying traffic laws and safety rules.
Loading and Unloading: Supervise or handle the physical loading, securing, and offloading of goods using equipment like pallet jacks.
Route Planning: Map out efficient travel paths to avoid heavy traffic or road blocks and meet delivery schedules.
Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, checking tire pressure, fluid levels, and overall mechanical health.
Documentation: Maintain accurate delivery logs, receipts, and mileage tracking records.
Customer Service: Communicate professionally with warehouse staff, dispatchers, and clients during drop-offs.

Requirements and Qualifications

Driving License: Hold a valid local driving license (such as a Class 3 for light lorries or Class 4/5 for heavy vehicles).
Clean Record: Maintain a safe driving history with no major traffic violations.
Physical Fitness: Be able to sit for long hours and lift or move heavy goods.
Navigation Skills: Know local roads and use map tools well.
