Job Description

Job purpose:

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, plan and schedule appropriate service line for situation (ground, expedited, air, ocean, etc) to maintain a cost-effective balance between customer service and cost of shipments. You will also ensure compliance with all government related programs specific to mode and direction of related shipments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans and schedules appropriate modes of transportation based on daily needs. Schedules the appropriate service line for the situation (across all modes and all trade lanes) to maintain a cost-effective balance between customer service and cost of shipment.
  • Leads core team responsible for meeting the needs of clients assigned to the group.
  • Liaisons with other support groups to ensure processes are established. Provides training and handoff to team to ensure they are properly servicing customers based on established requirements.
  • Insure proper documentation, including transit documents and customs clearances, exists for shipments. Ensure documentation is accurately processed, distributed and released to carrier, forwarders, customers and agents in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all shipments are accurate to the customer request, packaged in appropriate packaging and accompanied by all appropriate documentation.
  • Generate documentation required as per customer order, track shipment schedule and support in shipment arrangement as per agreed contractual terms and conditions.
  • Works closely with client's representative to ensure service satisfaction. Analyzes service failures/ issues and implements performance processes to enhance future service delivery.
  • Ensures any company policy, systems, and industry related training is delivered to all direct reports as needed.
  • Supporting outbound, inbound shipment and sampling outgoing quality check activities.
  • Assist Logistics Manager in all related logistics matters

REQUIREMENT:

  • ITE/Diploma in Logistic Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in logistic or warehouse management.
  • Knowledge in custom procedures and documentation requirement.
  • A team player with strong analytical skill, initiative, energetic and customer-oriented
  • Detail oriented and ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Good interpersonal and communication skill
  • Knowledge on the use of computers, internet and emailing
  • Knowledge in Microsoft office application especially in MS Excel and MS Word
  • Willing to work overtime, on holidays and weekends as and when necessary or as requested
