GTO Service Market Logistics (SML) APAC is a part of Group Trucks Operations (GTO) being globally active in more than 40 locations delivering world-class operational excellence for our customers, based on smart logistics solutions we have. Our job is to develop, manage and optimize the Service Market supply chain for all Volvo Group brands.

SML APAC Region operates from six sites: Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Singapore, S Korea, with regional HQ in Shanghai. MISSION - Logistic Manager Sourcing, SML APAC

The LMS ensures the cost-effectiveness and harmony of commercial packaging solutions that convey brand image, sales and customer satisfaction for the entire Volvo Group. It guarantees that packaging solutions are defined only once and for all new parts from the early stages of product development. He/she will also have to work on the maintenance of commercial packaging of existing suppliers. In addition he/she will collect the requirements and comments of the various actors. All in All, the LMS has to adapt packaging solutions in an approach to improving costs, quality and customer satisfaction. One of its key mission will also be to work cross functionally both with all local stakeholders (warehouse directors and supply planning managers), but as well with all LMS/commercial packaging from other regions in the SML community.

In this position, the incumbent will report to the Supply Planning and Dealer Inventory Management Director for APAC.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cover sourcing cases for Trucks Brands and Volvo Construction Equipment
  • Bring awareness and acceptance of SML requirements at selected suppliers
  • Ensure spare parts packaging lifetime after end of production
  • Ensure that cost, quality & customer satisfaction of packaging solutions are optimized for the entire supply chain
  • Secure alignment with GTO and Production Logistics organizations for segment codes
  • Continuous Improvement using VPS to reduce packaging costs, improve quality and customer satisfaction in order to improve processes, tools and working methods
  • Represent APAC in the sourcing global network
  • Assist supplier and other stakeholders to secure suitable and sustainable logistic set-up

  • Supply Chain / Logistic Knowledge
  • Volvo Production System or related with Lean Leadership Skills
  • Networking/Negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work proactively and autonomously without local management
  • Digital savvy is a plus

QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical/industrial/packaging engineering or other similar professional experience
  • Minimum work experience of 3 Years (in addition to internship period if any) in similar job role / skill set
