Logistics Manager
We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Logistics Manager to manage and oversee our Logistics function across multiple companies and retail outlets. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient management of inventory movements, warehouse operations, stock accounting and inventory planning. The successful candidate must be able to manage a fast-moving environment involving inter-company purchases and transfers, import-related requirements, outlet stock movements, expiry management and purchasing optimisation, while maintaining strong control over inventory costs and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the Logistics function, ensuring effective warehouse, inventory and stock management.
- Manage inventory and warehouse operations across 6 active companies and multiple retail outlets.
- Manage stock movements between companies, warehouses and outlets, ensuring all movements are properly recorded and supported by documentation.
- Coordinate purchases under companies with the required import licences and arrange subsequent inter-company resale or stock transfers with proper documentation.
- Monitor and reconcile physical stock movements against Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central records.
- Ensure accurate inventory costing and stock accounting, working closely with Finance where required.
- Proactively monitor stock expiry dates, ageing and slow-moving inventory and arrange timely clearance or utilisation.
- Monitor stock levels and consumption trends and recommend replenishment orders.
- Identify opportunities for bulk purchasing, volume discounts and cost savings while managing the risk of overstocking and expiry.
- Coordinate stock transfers between outlets based on operational requirements.
- Investigate stock discrepancies, unusual movements and inventory variances promptly.
- Ensure complete and accurate documentation for purchases, transfers, receipts, returns and other inventory movements.
- Maintain confidentiality of product costs, purchase prices, supplier pricing and other commercially sensitive information, particularly when dealing with retail outlets.
- Develop and improve inventory and warehouse control procedures to improve accuracy, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in logistics, warehouse, inventory or supply chain management.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central warehouse and inventory functions is required.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control, stock accounting and inventory costing.
- Experience managing inventory across multiple companies, warehouses or retail outlets.
- Experience managing and supervising logistics or warehouse operations.
- Experience with inter-company stock transfers and import-related documentation.
- Strong understanding of stock expiry, ageing inventory and slow-moving stock management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Strong Excel skills and ability to analyse inventory data.
- Proactive and hands-on, with the ability to track multiple stock movements and follow up on outstanding matters.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to identify opportunities to reduce inventory costs and maximise purchasing discounts.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential product and supplier cost information.
