Job Summary:
Act as the key person in Singapore overseeing all ocean freight operations, including coordination with Indonesia entities, container planning, and vendor management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle ocean freight operations from Indonesia to Singapore.
- Coordinate feeder vessel shipments and transition to mainline vessels.
- Plan container utilization and consolidation strategy to optimize cost.
- Serve as main contact point for freight forwarders, shipping lines, and local agents.
- Oversee documentation accuracy and compliance requirements.
- Monitor shipment timelines and proactively resolve disruptions.
- Build and manage relationships with logistics service providers.
- Provide basic cost tracking and shipment reporting.
Requirements:
- 4 to 7 years of experience in freight forwarding or shipping operations.
- Strong knowledge of LCL, FCL, and transshipment processes.
- Experience handling multi-country coordination.
- Able to work independently and set up processes from scratch.
- Comfortable working in a lean setup without an in-house logistics team.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous boundaries.
- Demonstrate strong proactiveness in identifying issues and driving solutions independently.
- Good written and spoken in English and Mandarin in order to liaise with Chinese speaking associates and China HQ office.
