Role Description:
The Logistics Director is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning and management of all logistics, supply chain, and distribution operations. This senior leadership role ensures efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery of goods while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute logistics and supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and support business objectives.
- Oversee transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution operations.
- Lead, mentor, and manage logistics teams, including managers and regional operations staff.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor logistics performance and implement process improvements.
- Negotiate contracts and maintain strong relationships with carriers, suppliers, and service providers.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies.
- Collaborate with other departments, including procurement, operations, and sales, to align logistics strategy with organizational goals.
- Identify risks and develop contingency plans to ensure continuity of operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; Master's preferred.
- Extensive experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation management, with prior leadership experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in logistics software, ERP systems, and data analytics.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
