LNG Trader - Global Energy Company

Description

Our client is a global energy company with operations across power generation, natural gas, LNG, energy trading, infrastructure and renewable energy. The group operates across the full energy value chain, including electricity and gas supply, trading and optimisation. They are looking to hire an LNG Trader to join the team in Singapore

Role

Reporting to Head of LNG. The trader will handle physical spot trading activities across Asia and global markets, while supporting the origination of new commercial opportunities. The role will focus on identifying trading opportunities across regional spreads, cargo optimisation, shipping economics and portfolio optionality, while developing relationships with LNG producers, utilities, trading houses and other counterparties. The successful candidate should have strong knowledge of physical LNG markets, pricing benchmarks, shipping and cargo economics, with prior experience in LNG trading, origination, position management and P&L ownership.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in business or a related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of experience in LNG trading, with strong knowledge of physical LNG markets, spot cargo trading, pricing and shipping economics. Experience in origination, counterparty development and managing trading positions or P&L will be highly preferred. Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills and an established network across LNG producers, utilities, trading houses and other market participants in Asia would be advantageous.
