Linux Engineer

Key Responsibilities

. Linux System Administration

. Install, configure, harden, patch, and maintain Linux systems (primarily RHEL-based distributions)

. Perform OS tuning, performance optimization, and capacity planning

. Ensure system security compliance (CIS benchmarks, patching, vulnerability remediation)

. Infrastructure Operations

. Manage Linux systems across development, testing, and production environments

. Provide Level 3 support for Linux-related incidents and issues

. Support high availability and disaster recovery configurations

. Automation & DevOps

. Develop and maintain automation using Ansible, Bash, and Python

. Automate provisioning, patching, and configuration management workflows

. Continuously improve system efficiency through infrastructure-as-code practices

. System Monitoring & Reliability

. Monitor system health, logs, and performance using enterprise monitoring tools

. Troubleshoot system bottlenecks, kernel issues, and application dependencies

. Ensure high system availability and uptime

. Hardware & Platform Support

. Support physical server infrastructure including installation and maintenance

. Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for hardware-related issues

. Documentation & Compliance

. Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and runbooks

. Ensure compliance with internal policies, security standards, and audit requirements

Requirement:

Education & Experience

. Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

. Minimum 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration in enterprise environments

. Core Technical Skills

. Strong hands-on expertise in RHEL / Linux (LVM, networking, kernel tuning, system internals)

. Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible preferred)

. Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash) and familiarity with Python

. Experience working in large-scale, production environments

. Additional Skills (Preferred)

. Familiarity with containers (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus

. Understanding of security hardening and compliance standards

. Red Hat certification (RHCSA/RHCE) is highly desirable

. ITIL certification is an advantage
