Linux Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain RHEL servers, ensuring system security, performance, and high availability.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Linux infrastructure across networking, storage, and security components.
• Design and implement anti-virus solutions (e.g., SEP, McAfee) for malware protection and system integrity.
• Respond to malware incidents, executing containment, eradication, and recovery protocols.
• Analyze operational performance and introduce infrastructure enhancements for improved reliability and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain Ansible-based configuration management and automation scripts to streamline system administration tasks.
• Collaborate with application teams for seamless integration of Linux systems with business-critical services.
• Enforce compliance with internal security policies, industry standards, and regulatory frameworks.
• Proactively conduct capacity planning and system performance tuning to meet future demands.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues, escalate to vendors as needed, and manage incident resolution.
• Plan and execute OS patching, system upgrades, and security hardening activities.
• Manage and support Pacemaker clustering solutions hosted on-premises.
• Handle service requests, change management, and maintain system uptime standards.
• Administer and support VMware environments integrated with Linux infrastructure.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure smooth operations.
• Provide 24x7 support, participate in on-call rotations, and contribute to system reliability.
• Offer technical guidance to project teams and stakeholders on Linux-based infrastructure solutions.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and configuration records.

Qualifications & Skills:

• 8+ years of hands-on experience as a Linux/Unix System
• Expert knowledge of RHEL administration, including system performance, patching, and troubleshooting.
• Strong experience with clustering technologies (e.g., Pacemaker), VMware, and storage/SAN administration.
• In-depth knowledge of anti-virus solutions and their integration with Linux platforms.
• Proficiency in automation and configuration management tools, especially Ansible.
• Understanding of ITIL or other ITSM frameworks is a plus.
