We are seeking an experienced Linux Administrator to support enterprise platform transformation initiatives involving OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) migration from VMware virtual environments to baremetal infrastructure.
The successful candidate will play a key role in baremetal cluster engineering, advanced Linux system administration, and enterprise infrastructure integration, working closely with platform, networking, and database teams.
This role is suitable for candidates who enjoy hands-on engineering work, automation, and large-scale system migration projects.
Lead and execute migration of OpenShift clusters from VMware virtualised environments to baremetal servers
Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance baremetal cluster architectures
Develop automation scripts and deployment tools to support infrastructure provisioning and configuration
Support cluster optimisation, resilience planning, and performance tuning
Install, configure, and maintain enterprise Linux systems (RHEL preferred)
Perform system hardening, patch management, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation
Ensure high availability and operational stability of Linux platforms
Support application teams during system deployments, upgrades, and migration activities
Configure and manage networking components including switches, VLANs, routing, and DNS
Ensure secure and reliable connectivity across OpenShift clusters and enterprise systems
Support firewall configurations and network performance optimisation
Support deployment and integration of Oracle databases within Linux and container platforms
Collaborate with database administrators to ensure system reliability and optimal performance
Develop technical documentation including architecture designs, migration procedures, and operational guides
Establish best practices for cluster management, security, and disaster recovery planning
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration (RHEL / CentOS preferred)
Proven experience working with OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) including cluster setup and migration
Strong knowledge of baremetal provisioning and cluster engineering
Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLAN, DNS, routing, firewalls)
Experience supporting Oracle database environments on Linux platforms
Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or similar
Familiarity with VMware virtualisation and migration strategies
Scripting skills in Bash and/or Python
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and manage complex infrastructure tasks
Good communication and documentation skills
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent certification
Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration technologies
Exposure to enterprise security and compliance environments
Minimum 3 years of experience in OpenShift
Minimum 3 years of experience in infrastructure automation
