Job Summary

A strategic licensing role focused on acquiring and managing intellectual property partnerships to drive growth for trading card game products.

Responsibilities:

  • Acquire intellectual property (IP) rights from external partners for collaboration in trading card games
  • Identify and develop new licensing and business opportunities aligned with game concepts and audiences
  • Negotiate, execute, and renew licensing agreements to ensure contractual compliance and revenue optimisation
  • Negotiate royalty structures and minimum guarantees with IP licensors
  • Create, manage, and maintain licensing documentation and records in both Japanese and English, including contracts, rights management, product release schedules, and royalty tracking
  • Coordinate payment processing and royalty administration with relevant stakeholders
  • Support the approval process for licensed products and related marketing materials
  • Facilitate additional copyright or licensing arrangements as required

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of games, anime, or related entertainment content
  • Proficiency in Japanese (Business level) and English for preparing documentation and liaising with Japanese- and English-speaking clients and stakeholders
  • Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity to linguistic nuances when working with international partners
  • Proven ability to manage schedules, prioritise tasks, and handle multiple workstreams effectively
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  • Strong decision-making, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to work on selected weekends or public holidays for company-related events
  • Willingness to travel overseas for business purposes when required
  • Experience in reading and handling contracts, agreements, or legal documents is an added advantage
