Library Officer (Cataloguing)

Library & Archives Solutions Pte Ltd (LAAS), incorporated in 2000, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Library Board (NLB) of Singapore.

LAAS seeks to provide solutions in library innovations to support libraries in expanding their services and improving efficiency, enhancing their capabilities and empowering libraries to adopt digital technologies to better serve their users.

We are seeking an experienced Library Officer (Cataloguing) to join our team.

Scope of work

The job scope includes, but is not limited to, the following:

• Cataloguing the library's collections according to the latest industry best practices and cataloguing standards
• Cataloguing the library's collections in accordance with a targeted project schedule developed in agreement with the Board
• Preparing inventory listing for digitization of materials
• Supporting digitization efforts of the Library
• Informing the Cataloguer if special treatment is needed for individual or unique items
• Covering library staff roles on an urgent and emergency basis

Qualifications

• A recognised degree, preferably in Library and Information Science or a related field
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role
• Strong understanding of cataloguing standards and best practices
• Flexible, adaptable, and able to work collaboratively within a diverse and dynamic team
