Job Description
Legal, Risk & Compliance Project Manager
A growing regional business group is looking for a Legal, Risk & Compliance Project Manager to coordinate projects across its Legal, Risk and Compliance function.
Reporting to the senior Group Legal and Compliance leader, this person will manage timelines, track deliverables and ensure that projects are properly prepared for review and decision-making. This is primarily a project-management role for someone with legal experience or formal legal education.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate legal, risk and compliance operations across multiple business entities.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, action lists and status reports.
- Track assigned work and ensure stakeholders complete agreed deliverables on time.
- Follow up on outstanding actions, approvals and project dependencies.
- Coordinate input from business teams, subsidiaries, external counsel and advisers.
- Organize policies, agreements, reports and submissions before senior review.
- Prepare concise summaries covering key issues, pending decisions and next steps.
- Implement and track instructions issued by Legal and Compliance leadership.
- Escalate project delays, resource constraints and significant risks.
- Maintain document controls and access restrictions for sensitive information.
- Support management reporting and improvements to legal, risk and compliance processes.
Requirements
- Degree in Law or other formal legal education.
- 5+ years previous experience as a lawyer, legal professional or legal project manager, or within a legal, risk or compliance function.
- Strong coordination experience.
- Ability to understand complex legal and regulatory matters and convert them into clear actions.
- Strong stakeholder-management skills and confidence following up on overdue deliverables.
- Good drafting, organizational and attention-to-detail capabilities.
- Experience coordinating work across different functions, entities or jurisdictions.
- Ability to handle privileged, confidential and commercially sensitive information.
- Able to work independently, anticipate issues and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Commercially aware and comfortable holding stakeholders accountable.
- A legal or project-management qualification would be advantageous.
