Role Overview
We are building out our legal capability to support complex energy, infrastructure and sustainable investment initiatives across the Asia Pacific region. This opportunity is ideal for a mid-level Legal Counsel or Legal Manager who wants meaningful exposure to high-value financing and capital markets transactions in a commercially driven environment.
You will work closely with senior legal leaders and cross-functional teams on strategic, cross-border projects. The role offers strong deal exposure, real ownership of workstreams and a platform to deepen your transactional skill set.
Key Responsibilities
. Provide legal support on banking and finance transactions, including drafting and negotiating loan agreements, security documents and related financing instruments across multiple APAC jurisdictions.
. Assist with capital markets activities, mergers and acquisitions, and structured investments from the term sheet stage through closing.
. Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts, including joint venture agreements, shareholder agreements, EPC contracts and development or services agreements.
. Support legal and commercial due diligence processes and contribute to transaction structuring discussions.
. Partner with internal stakeholders across Legal, Risk, Tax and Finance to ensure transactions are aligned, compliant and efficiently executed.
. Advise on corporate governance, regulatory requirements and day-to-day operational legal matters.
. Coordinate with and manage external counsel to ensure timely, high-quality and cost-effective delivery.
Ideal Candidate Profile
. LL.B or LL.M from a reputable institution and admitted to practise in a common law jurisdiction.
. Approximately 3 to 4 years of post-qualification experience, ideally in banking, finance or capital markets, gained in a leading law firm or established in-house team.
. Demonstrated experience supporting cross-border transactions within the APAC region.
. Strong commercial judgment with advanced drafting and negotiation skills.
. Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal.
. Team oriented, pragmatic and solutions-focused.
. Comfortable handling multiple priorities independently in a fast-moving environment.
