Job Description

What You'll Do:

  • Provide full legal support to SP Group companies in both Singapore and overseas jurisdictions, in respect of a broad spectrum of matters, including but not limited to rendering legal advice and handling of agreements in respect of the following types of activities:

  1. Mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures, including the structuring, negotiating and drafting of share / asset purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, and other associated transaction documents;
  2. Business operations and activities that are subject to regulatory oversight;
  3. Infrastructure project development, including offtake agreements, engineering, procurement and construction contracts, and operations and maintenance contracts, as well as issues and/or disputes arising from the same;
  4. Rooftop solar solutions;
  5. District cooling services and heating services;
  6. Establishment and operation of electric vehicle charging networks, microgrids and other renewable / sustainability solutions;
  7. Collaborations to drive research, development and implementation of next-generation energy solutions and technologies;
  8. Procurement contracts and tenders

  • Handle claims, investigations, disputes and related litigious matters
  • Handle general corporate and commercial matters such as loan agreements, lease agreements and employment matters
  • Establish and manage relationships with external legal firms
  • Oversight of legal risks across SP Group's functions and business divisions
  • Update on new laws and regulations and alerting impacted divisions/functions

What You'll Need:

  • Degree in Law from a recognised University
  • At least 7 years post-qualification experience in practice and/or in-house
  • Possess excellent legal analytical skills, drafting and negotiation skills
  • Commercial minded, strong business acumen to understand business goals and strategy
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and relationship building skills
  • Good initiative, able to drive projects and possess a strong sense of accountability
  • Strong experience in negotiating, drafting and executing commercial contracts
  • Experience in advising and negotiating M&A transactions in Singapore and other countries in South-East Asia and/or China
  • Experience in the infrastructure project development and/or energy industry, and/or infrastructure/renewable projects, in Singapore and other countries in South-East Asia and/or China will be viewed favorably
  • Experience in corporate secretarial matters will be advantageous
  • Independent and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight timelines
  • A good team player
