As we advance our capabilities and reach, Saxo is looking to hire a Legal Counsel to join the team, reporting directly to the Head of Legal. This is a dynamic and exciting in-house role that offers the opportunity to join a global FinTech and an excellent platform to develop and broaden your legal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide commercially sound legal advice across a range of issues including financial regulatory matters, corporate governance, intellectual property, IT, and data protection.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Draft, review and negotiate contracts and other legal documentation (including brokerage and trading agreements, custody agreements, marketing and licensing agreements, NDAs, MOUs etc.).
- Manage client disputes which may include liaising with external counsel for litigation, dispute resolution and settlement negotiations.
- Provide legal advisory support on all current and upcoming regulations and consultation papers issued by the regulators including technology and outsourcing matters.
- Ensure contract documentation for transactions comply with the Group's policies, advising on material legal risks and obtaining necessary dispensations in accordance with relevant Group policies.
- Support and manage ad-hoc commercial projects.
- Assist with general corporate secretarial matters.

Your Profile
- A qualified lawyer with minimum 2-4 years post qualification experience.
- Knowledge of the financial services regulatory framework in Singapore, gained either from private practice or in-house.
- Detailed knowledge of commercial and technology legal matters.
- Interest in and understanding of the developing fintech environment and implementing various commercial and cooperation models with third parties.
- Experience with dispute/complaints handling.
- A team player with an ability to work collaboratively and, where applicable, independently with minimal supervision.
- Great at building networks and connections with internal stakeholders at all levels.
