Legal Counsel (Oil & Gas / Energy) – Singapore

We are working with a Singapore-based energy investment and operating platform on a Legal Counsel hire. This is a key role within a lean team, supporting regional projects and corporate initiatives across Southeast Asia.

The Role

You will work closely with senior management and internal stakeholders to provide practical, commercially-driven legal support across a range of business activities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating procurement, financing, and governance-related contracts
• Supporting corporate finance activities, including capital raising, divestments, and M&A transactions
• Advising on legal structuring for both existing and upcoming projects across the region
• Working alongside external counsel where required, while maintaining strong internal ownership of legal matters
• Providing day-to-day legal guidance to business teams in a lean, hands-on environment

Ideal Profile

• 10–12 years of legal experience
• Background in oil & gas / energy sector preferred
• Experience working with listed companies (ASX exposure is advantageous but not essential)
• Combination of private practice and in-house experience is a plus
• Practical, commercially-minded approach — able to balance legal risk with business objectives
• Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-moving environment

• Work arrangement: Hybrid (1–2 days remote)
