The Opportunity
Title: Legal Counsel
Business Unit / Product Line: Legal
Reporting to: Head of Legal APAC
Location: Singapore
Travel: required
Role Background
This position is responsible for the preparation, review and negotiation of a variety of information technology related agreements, including software license agreements, professional services agreements and nondisclosure agreements.
This position is in the legal department and requires the successful candidate to work independently and under oversight of senior legal staff. The successful candidate must be able to work under pressure, maintain a diplomatic manner with (sometimes) difficult and demanding clients and retain a sense of humour.
Skills & Experience
- Law Degree AND admitted or qualified to practice in a recognized bar.
- Contracts experiences in the review and drafting of information technology related agreements. Familiarity with issues that arise in the negotiation of those agreements is essential. A general knowledge of the principles of intellectual property (mainly copyright) is desirable but not essential.
- Strong verbal/written communication and problem-solving skills.
- Customer centric and focused approach in supporting both external and internal customers.
- Fluent in English. Proficiency in other language(s) of Asia will be an advantage.

- An ability to negotiate independently with client contract administrators and procurement/sourcing personnel.
- An ability to organize a heavy workload.
- An ability to pick up issues quickly, to articulate complex matters clearly and succinctly both verbally and in writing to team members and senior management.
- An ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
- An ability to resolve problems in a calm, logical fashion, working under pressure and retaining a sense of humour.
2. A general knowledge of the principles of US GAAP software revenue recognition practice is desirable but not essential.
3. A willingness to work outside of regular office hours to meet deadlines and communicate with off-site team members and clients.
