Legal Counsel - Energy & Commodities

Our client is a well-established and growing international business with operations across Asia-Pacific. As part of its continued expansion, the company is seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join its Singapore-based team.

This is a broad sole in-house legal counsel role offering exposure to a wide range of legal matters across multiple jurisdictions. Working closely with senior business stakeholders, you will provide practical legal advice, support strategic initiatives, and help manage legal risk across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities of this Legal Counsel - Energy & Commodities:

• Provide day-to-day legal advice to business and corporate functions across the region.
• Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements and legal documents.
• Support corporate transactions, strategic projects and investment activities.
• Advise on regulatory, compliance and governance matters across multiple jurisdictions.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to identify and manage legal risks while enabling commercial objectives.
• Manage external law firms and coordinate legal support where required.
• Contribute to the development of internal policies, processes and best practices.

Requirements of this Legal Counsel - Energy & Commodities:

• Qualified lawyer with 3 - 6 years of relevant post-qualification experience gained in private practice and/or in-house.
• Experience advising on commercial contracts and general corporate matters.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially focused with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives.
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
• Experience supporting cross-border matters within Asia-Pacific would be advantageous.
