China Unicom (Singapore) Operations Pte. Ltd. is a leading telecommunications provider. As our ASEAN operations expand, we are looking for a dedicated Legal Counsel to join our team and support our growing business needs in the region.
Job Responsibilities
Contract Management: Review and approve contracts for the Singapore entity. Mitigate contractual risks, optimize contract templates, and enhance the efficiency of the review process.
Project Support: Partner with HQ legal teams to provide robust legal support for major ASEAN business projects, including Intelligent Computing and Internet of Vehicles (IoV) initiatives.
Compliance Governance: Manage daily compliance matters, including annual inspections and regulatory filings. Organize risk assessments and conduct internal compliance training.
Regulatory Monitoring: Monitor and advise on local laws and regulatory developments in telecommunications, data & network security, export controls, economic sanctions, anti-bribery/corruption, anti-money laundering, and intellectual property.
Dispute Resolution: Assist in managing local litigation and arbitration matters.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Law from a recognized university.
Professional Qualification (Important):
Priority Consideration: Candidates currently admitted to the Singapore Bar will be given priority.
Alternative Consideration: Candidates qualified in Mainland China or Hong Kong SAR will be considered if they possess exceptional relevant experience (particularly in the telecommunications industry or cross-border compliance).
Experience: Prior legal compliance experience in the telecommunications industry is highly preferred.
Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English and Chinese (written and spoken) is required to effectively liaise with our Regional and Head Office counterparts in China, review bilingual contracts, and support cross-border projects. (IELTS 6.5+ / TOEFL 90+ or equivalent proof may be requested).
Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
