Provide legal advice on a wide range of banking and financial services matters including regulatory compliance, corporate governance, outsourcing, data protection (PDPA) and commercial contracts in alignment with Singapore legal and regulatory requirements.
Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of contracts and agreements, including loan agreements (bilateral and syndicated), treasury and capital markets documentation, outsourcing agreements, service agreements, financial transactions, and other commercial contracts.
Draft, review and advise on ISDA related matters, including master agreements, credit support annexes (CSAs), and related documentation for derivatives transactions.
Assist in the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including MAS Notices, outsourcing guidelines, and cross-border legal risk considerations.
Manage and support the resolution of legal disputes and potential litigation matters, including working with external legal counsel when necessary, and assisting in regulatory investigations or internal incident responses.
Working together with multiple internal stakeholders to prepare and advise on legal documentation, internal policies and procedures, including intragroup agreements and new business initiatives or product approvals.
Manage external counsels effectively when engaged, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective delivery of legal services.
Conduct training sessions for internal stakeholders on legal and compliance issues, promoting awareness of relevant legal frameworks, regulatory developments, and the bank's internal legal policies and procedures.
Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by and/or in the absence of the Head of Legal & Compliance
Requirements:
Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) or equivalent. Additional qualifications such as a Master of Laws (LLM) or professional certifications in banking or financial services law are a plus.
Called to the Singapore Bar with at least 2 - 4 years PQE
Relevant banking or financial related experience in practice and/or in-house
