My client is seeking a strategic, business-minded Legal Counsel to provide trusted legal and compliance support across Southeast Asia, Australia & New Zealand, and occasionally work with the China-based legal and compliance team.
Key Responsibilities as the Legal Counsel
- Serve as a key legal partner, delivering pragmatic, solutions-oriented advice on complex commercial, compliance, and regulatory matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts, including distributor, vendor, licensing, and clinical trial agreements.
- Support major regional initiatives such as M&A, joint ventures, and strategic collaborations.
- Drive compliance programs such as policy implementation, training, and engagement with healthcare professionals and government stakeholders.
- Monitor and advise on evolving laws and regulations in data privacy, competition, and fair trading.
Candidate Profile of the Legal Counsel
- Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 8 years post-qualification experience, including at least 3 years in the MedTech or Pharmaceutical sector.
- Strong regional experience in Southeast Asia; exposure to China highly desirable.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin due to working closely with China-based counterparts.
- Commercially astute, collaborative, and able to navigate complex, cross-border environments with integrity and sound judgment.
