About the Role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day legal affairs arising from Gotion Singapore's growing operations. This will include a wide array of corporate, commercial and compliance-related matters.
You will contribute to stabilizing the internal legal practice as well as the expansion of legal and transactional support to Gotion Singapore's energy storage and battery businesses. Engaged in commercial contracts spans group's subsidiaries, joint ventures (JV) partners, operating partners across India, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, etc.
Responsibilities
(The main job responsibilities should include, but not be limited to)
- Provide legal guidance, identify legal risks, and handle a wide range of corporate legal matters to support business to trade lawfully.
- Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements such as NDAs, Sales and Supply Agreements, PPAs, Term Sheets, Novation Agreements across the Group's subsidiaries, joint ventures, and operating partners throughout the APAC region.
- Work closely with various teams to provide legal advice on issues (e.g. tax, finance/accounting, employment, corporate and commercial) together with resolution plans.
- Provide ongoing legal support, including conducting third party vendor screenings, contract reviews, and policy formulation etc.
- Draft and publish internal legal policies as well as standard operating procedure (SOP) documenting the tasks, processes and workflows.
- As needed, support stakeholders on special projects and legal operations matters.
- Any other ad hoc duties as assigned from time to time.
Skills and Qualifications
- 3-5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) is preferred, gained in a law firm and/or in-house role with a well-established company.
- A recognized law degree from a reputable university is required (While admission to the Singapore Bar is not mandatory; however, a strong foundation in contract drafting is essential).
- Strong analytical skills, well organized with an ethical mindset.
- Able to engage confidently and effectively with stakeholders across expertise and cultures.
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines within reasonable turnaround times.
