Job Description

Our client is a fast-growing, Asia-headquartered life sciences company with a strong presence in pharmaceutical commercialization, distribution, and strategic partnerships across Asia-Pacific, India, the Middle East, Latin America, and Europe. They are now seeking a Legal & Compliance Manager to join the team.

KeyResponsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day legal support to commercial and functional teams, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of agreements (e.g. distribution, licensing, supply, manufacturing, service and partnership contracts). Conduct risk assessments, ensure alignment with internal policies, and escalate complex matters where required.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing enhancement of the organisation's compliance framework across multiple jurisdictions, including policies on business conduct, anti-bribery and anti-corruption, and healthcare compliance.
  • Manage third-party compliance processes such as distributor and vendor due diligence, onboarding and monitoring. Advise on compliance risks related to commercial activities, including sales practices, promotional activities and engagements with healthcare professionals and institutions. Ensure compliant structuring of sponsorships, educational events and advisory activities.
  • Assist in delivering compliance training programmes and awareness initiatives for employees and external stakeholders. Support monitoring activities, internal reviews and investigations into potential compliance issues.
  • Provide support on data privacy matters, including contract reviews and operational queries relating to personal data.Assist with intellectual property matters such as trademark filings, renewals and coordination with external advisors.
  • Support handling of disputes, regulatory matters and claims across jurisdictions, liaising with external counsel where necessary. Assist with corporate governance and secretarial matters for regional entities.
  • Collaborate with regional stakeholders and headquarters to support group-wide legal and compliance initiatives, reporting and cross-border projects.

Qualifications& Requirements

  • Law degree (LL.B. or J.D.) from a recognised institution admission to practice in a common law jurisdiction preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years PQE, ideally with in-house exposure within the pharmaceutical, healthcare or life sciences sector. Combination of private practice and in-house experience is advantageous.Regional or cross-border experience is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in healthcare compliance, including anti-bribery and anti-corruption, third-party risk management and HCP-related compliance. Familiarity with global frameworks and regional regulations is required.
  • Strong commercial contracting experience, with the ability to draft, review and negotiate agreements and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a regional, matrix environment. Fluency in English is required.
  • Willingness to travel regionally on a limited basis.
