About the Role
Our client is a well-established international commodity trading company seeking a Legal & Compliance Manager/Executive to support its growing trading operations across the region.
This role offers broad exposure across legal, compliance, sanctions, regulatory advisory, commercial contracts and internal governance. You will work closely with senior management, trading teams and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure business activities remain compliant while supporting commercial growth.

Key Responsibilities
Legal & Commercial Support
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, including sales and purchase agreements, NDAs and other trading-related contracts.
- Provide legal advice to business teams on commercial transactions and contractual matters.
- Support contract negotiations and recommend practical risk mitigation solutions.
- Advise internal stakeholders on legal and regulatory implications of business activities.
Compliance & Regulatory
- Manage and continuously enhance the company's compliance framework and internal policies.
- Monitor compliance risks relating to counterparties, vessels, trade structures and international sanctions.
- Conduct sanctions screening and ensure compliance with applicable trade embargoes and regulatory requirements.
- Advise business units on regulatory developments and assess the impact of new regulations on business operations.
- Conduct compliance investigations and prepare investigation reports where required.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and ad hoc compliance reports for management and regulatory purposes.
Risk Management & Internal Controls
- Review and improve compliance policies, procedures and internal control frameworks.
- Monitor compliance across business units and recommend process improvements.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing relevant documentation.
- Report compliance trends, key risks and mitigation measures to senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Law, Business, Finance or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of legal and/or compliance experience.
- Experience within commodity trading, oil & gas, energy, shipping or financial services will be highly advantageous.

- Experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.

Preferred
- Experience negotiating ISDA Master Agreements, CSA, or other financial market documentation.
- Prior exposure to derivatives, commodity trading or structured transactions.
