Job Description

We are partnering with a leading global quantitative trading firm to hire a Legal & Compliance Associate for their Singapore office.

With a strong international presence and multi-asset strategy, the firm is known for its technology-driven trading environment, collaborative culture, and sophisticated approach to global markets. This opportunity offers broad exposure to regulatory, compliance, and legal matters within a fast-paced proprietary trading business supporting APAC markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Support regulatory, compliance, and internal audit reviews across global trading operations.
  • Manage AML/KYC processes, counterparty onboarding, and exchange/broker regulatory documentation.
  • Assist with contract reviews, company filings, and compliance with Singapore employment and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory developments, surveillance alerts, and internal policy updates, providing guidance across teams where needed.
  • Liaise with brokers, exchanges, regulators, and internal stakeholders to support ongoing compliance and operational matters.

Requirements:

  • A strong educational background, including a B.A./B.S. from an accredited school is required; law degree is required preferably qualifying the candidate to practice law in Singapore.
  • 3-5 years legal and/or compliance/regulatory experience with a national securities exchange or self-regulatory organization, registered broker-dealer, registered investment adviser, proprietary trading firm, or other financial institution is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail are essential. The ideal candidate will also have an understanding of investment products and operations, plus project management, technical, and prioritization skills.
  • Fluency in Mandarin (written and spoken) is strongly preferred, given regular interaction with Greater China counterparties, exchanges, and regulators.
